I mean, said giant was already in the army fighting against giants, so it's not that unreasonable to assume he doesn't care about giants

I like how he doesn't forgive them unlike the usual main protagonist shenanigans. Getting betrayed by the one you respected must've been traumatising.

The range of emotions we see from a character that can't even talk is amazing.

I think Bojji being mute makes this a necessity. I find the ambiguity of his exact emotions makes for a more interesting character because he can't say that he doesn't forgive them, it's something we have to infer based on his history and his actions rather than just hearing the words. The exact mixture of emotion welling up in him is something that's left to our imagination.

It’s gonna eventually happen( since Domas isn’t really a bad guy ), but I’m happy that it’s gonna take longer than other shonen protags

Man every time we learn about Miranjo's past, she becomes more and more despicable. Turns out that she was the one responsible for Bojji's mom's death. From the way BojjiMama was pleading to Miranjo to stop, it seems like Miranjo was really trying to kill Bojji and BojjiMama got in the way. After watching that heartbreaking scene, I don't think this show can even redeem Miranjo anymore.

Goddam never thought shit will get this dark. I was quite convinced the darkest part of the show is the dad juice but this episode puts that on a par.
Imagine getting soaked in your mother's blood at a young age, Bojji is hella strong kid to stay cheerful as he grew up.
Desha was an admirable king with how he comprehend both dark side of ruling while stays groundednon his obligation, any form of war is hell.
Ouken keeps giving me creeps man with how unpredictable he is.

Dude, I think Hiling was one of the major factors behind bojji staying cheerful ngl. Recontextualizes EVERYTHING till now. Hiling came to 'adopt' bojji right when he was going through the most trauma, holding all inside himself. Makes me fall in love with Hiling all over again

Definitely a Mom I'd Like to Friend.

Mom I'd Like to Friendは、性的に魅力的な年上女性(母親)を表すスラングMILF(Mother I'd Like to F*ck=(直訳)F*ckしたくなるような母親)の改変

r
Mercenaries: we’ll torture this kid so that the giants attack us!
Also mercenaries when the giant standing next to them attacks them:

mercenary=傭兵 ※傭兵という意味以外に、金目当ての、金銭に卑しいといった意味があったりします。英語圏では文化的、歴史的に傭兵は金のために人殺しをする連中みたいな侮蔑的な意味が強いのだろうか?

Don't really know what they were expecting lol. I get all is fair in love and war, but if you are going to involve innocent children, you sir, deserve to go to the straightest depths of the "Underworld". Oh wait....

Hired by the son of the underworld to fight the king of the underworld in the actual underworld
They must have gotten a hefty hazard bonus

hefty=高額な 重い 強烈な

So Ouken is Desper and Desha's brother too. I wonder what caused him to descend to madness like that. Desper said several episodes ago it's due to him dabbling with immortality. Considering Desha's hate to Milanjo and how Milanjo was able to give power up to Apis, maybe it's all her fault?
I'm a bit annoyed that Desha took all of Bojji's recruits (Gigan and the beasts) to the underworld though. I mean, it's really cool that Bojji had these unique underlings. Hopefully, it's only temporary.
Btw damn that flashback to Bojji's mother is gruesome! No wonder why kid Bojji is really hard to approach by anyone other than Hiling. And it's only after Hiling's extra effort that Bojji was opening up.

Ouken's comments this episode + the immortality tidbit has me theorizing
I wonder if his interest in immortality has to do with becoming the perfect soldier or weapon. All to help Desha and well.....
I can't wait for the reveal

That's what I was thinking too. He did say he was willing to be his yes-man. I'm willing to bet he had a situation similar to Miranjo where he was dying and made a deal with the devil too.

r
All those overly ambitious kings and their followers are ensuring that Devil-san never goes out of business

Another emotional episode...
the scene where Bojji's mother is protecting him and the one where Gigan snaps after the kid is killed were brutal.
Maybe Miranjo had a reason that's not yet explained but that made me dislike the character even more.

Everyone is talking about Gigan and Miranjo, while I'm truly impressed by what they did with Domas' and Bojji's relationship. Your usual shounen series would make Bojji forgive him 10 episodes ago, while here the mix of complex emotions grips the viewer by the guts. I really appreciate how they handle character development in this series, feels real as fuck.

They even got Kage mistakenly thinking it would be easy. Even our best friend isn’t perfect.

Miranjo would have killed Bojji from the start, whaaat??
So probably looks like the people Daida sees bullying Miranjo are from Bosse's kingdom. This show is amazing

My guess is Miranjo's plan was always to have Bosse have a child that Bosse could inhabit after death, but viewed Bojji as too weak

Can't wait for Miranjo's ultra tragic backstory so I can regret hatting her.

uhh since she was ransacking a castle with Bosse's queen. tho I don't know how that ties with Miranjo and Bosse's relationship

lol I love how flaying a child's face then cutting her hands off are now just "bullying".

flay A=Aの皮をはぐ Aを鞭打つ Aを厳しく批判する

What I like the most is this episode perfectly capture how Domas feel guilty and how he want to atone for his unforgivable action. Because I was in Domas position for too many times, and I understand that bad feeling, the feeling of "if I could rewind the time, I'll never ever do this".

what i love about this show so so much, is that no character is single handedly good or evil. each character has moral greys and do wrong and do good in the same lifetime. its very game of thrones which is so great to see animated, top tier AOTY for sure

Ousama ranking is back. For me this is the first eps with good quality in the 2nd cours. I hope the rest will be like this or even better.
